Question by me :) : Going on Mexico Cruise – Which cruise line is the best?
I’m planning a 7 day cruise to the Mexian riviera and I’m having a hard time trying to decide on a cruise line. Holland is most appealing to me (the shows look great, rooms look good and the movie theater sounds cool!) but I want to make sure I’m making the best decision. It will be our honeymoon and we’re in our thirties. Can anyone offer some advice on what cruise line would be the best for us?

I have been only been on one cruise it was a Carnival Cruise to Mexico. It was a great value for the money. We went for a week and it cost less then just a hotel for the week, plus you get food, entertainment, etc. The food and staff were wonderful. They had lots of activies and entertainment. We spent most of our days in the ports but the evenings and our day at sea was full of stuff to do. I am actually planning another cruise this spring and am going on Carnival again. I don’t know anything about Holland. Hopefully someone will answer who has been on a Holland Cruise.

I’ve been on 8 cruises with Princess. They have very classy ships. The food is outstanding, service is impeccable, cabins are beautiful. You can’t go wrong with Princess. If you want a more laid back, party atmosphere, lots of teens, then Carnival is your ship.

Golden princess is doing it, as is the Carnival Pride depending on when you are thinking about going–

Also the Holland America Oosterdam does the Mexican Riv out of San Diego–

We liked Royal Caribbean. Clean ship, spacious rooms, awesome food, and very helpful and polite staff. It was an outstanding value for the money. Carnival is for the younger set who only want to party all the time. Holland is nice too. Norwegian is horrible. Disney is chock full of little kids. No fun there!

I went on the Carnival Pride last March and liked it a lot. However, I’m not sure if you want to really go on a “party ship” on your honeymoon, or if you prefer something more romantic. If you do, the Carnival Pride is for you. If you want something more sophisticated, go for the Golden or Dawn Princess. If neither apply to you, go on the Vision of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) or the MS Oosterdam. I’d suggest the Royal Caribbean over Holland America though, I just haven’t read or heard about people having great amounts of fun on them. The other 3 though, I have heard very good things about.

      My Cruising Experiences:
      1) Carnival Imagination
      2) Carnival Fascination
      3) Disney Magic
      4) Grandeur of the Seas
      5) Carnival Valor
      6) Carnival Pride
      – Soon to be — 7) Crown Princess

I may have a bit of a bias… I’m 15 though, so I haven’t really had the adult “partying” experiences of cruises. I just know that the Carnival crowd tends to be a bit rowdier than the rest. Just know that whatever you chose, you won’t be completely disappointed. Cruises are the best.
