Travelrobe Says the Caribbean is a Perfect Destination for 2006
Norbury, United Kingdom, (PRWEB) August 15, 2006
Travelrobe has claimed that the Caribbean is one of the safest places to visit and with the islands continuing to expand and develop their infrastructure towards tourism the region will become a major destination.
Mark Felix, the MD says that while many areas in the world combat the threat of terrorism, the Caribbean has not had any major incidents and is in a good position to exploit the opportunity and void left by a few major destinations engulf with the threat and that customers should research any destination for change in status and updates before departure.
Recommended Islands Include:
Antigua – famous for its beaches and its cricket players.
Aruba – with its endless supply of white sandy beaches and turquoise blue waters.
Bahamas – graced with beautiful beaches of pink sand.
St Lucia – a glorious mix of honey sand beaches.
St Kitts and Nevis – remarkable preservation of West Indian culture and attitudes.
To add to the vast diversity of the Caribbean there are the British Virgin Islands and the US Virgin Islands with their sea-swept landscapes, historic towns, duty-free shopping and luxurious resorts, these islands bask in the combination of familiar yet exotic which makes them the most popular cruise-ship destinations in the Caribbean.
The average travel time to the Caribbean from the UK is 6-8 hours and the widely used currency is the Eastern Caribbean dollar know as EC$ . Sterling and the American dollar are always welcomed by the locals and the exchange rate for £1.00 is about $ 4.50 EC. For more information visit http://www.travelrobe.com destination guides.
Travelrobe provides over 30 destination guides for the Caribbean, from the Cayman Islands to Antigua the site offers recommendations on food and drink, where to go, money and costs, history and information on tours.
One draw back to booking the Caribbean year round is the Hurricane season, but there is good news because the season is predictable; Travelrobe is issuing caution when traveling between June 1 to Nov. 30.
For those customers who have not yet decided where to spend their summer holiday, Travelrobe can provide all the answers to the many questions they have and is recommending the Caribbean as the destination of choice.

I don’t think there is a way to beat the rap on this one. Cruise ships have only one phone and Internet provider. It’s SeaTel. Just like concession stands at a stadium, they have a monopoly. If your girlfriend has a cell phone with her and you know which days she will be in certain ports, you could call her that way, but even answering a cell phone at sea, she would be charged air time at SeaTel’s price. Sorry.

Caribbean cruise line jobs are becoming exceedingly popular these days, due to the waning job market. Most Caribbean cruise lines divide their job positions between land based, and ship based jobs. Of course the majority of cruise ship job seekers prefer to work on the ship. Sailing the waters of the Caribbean, taking in the views of the coastline, catering to happy guests, and enjoying the ship amenities seem like the dream life for most. Additionally, working on a cruise ship allows staff and crew the ability to save most of their earnings due to free lodging and meals. Ahhh the life of a cruise line job.
But with all these benefits comes competition, just like anything else worthwhile. The cruise line industry is one of the most difficult industries to break into. You need a step by step course of action to take.
Here’s a list of things you should do to get the ball rolling on your way to landing a cruise line job. The link at the bottom provides much more detail on all of these.
Try to obtain direct contact information to people who do the hiring, such as recruiters, or staffing agents.
Dress professionally during your interviews
If you have experience in the hospitality industry, working at a restaurant or bar, or general customer service, draw special attention to this experience on your cover letter and resume.
Contact and meet with a cruise ship job agency who can do some of the legwork for you when locating particular jobs you may be interested in. These agencies will also assist with your preperation.
Develop a fun, outgoing demeanor. Passengers and staff alike are all enjoyment seekers in general, and you want to fit in with the cruise ship culture.
Follow these general guidelines, and you’ll be well on your way to landing that caribbean cruise line job of your dreams.

On our most recent vacation, we didn’t bring both a still camera and a video camera. We let our Canon DSLR’s do double duty. Here are the results. We were very happy… other than the way it looks when played on a CRT TV. (The horse riding scene was shot with a very cheap Casio camera because of the water.)

Royal Caribbean and Direct Line Cruises, Inc. Report a Record Number of Inquiries and Bookings at The New York Times Travel Show
Hauppauge, NY (Vocus/PRWEB) March 02, 2011
For the third consecutive year at the New York Times Travel Show, the partnership of Royal Caribbean International and Direct Line Cruises, Inc. proved to be a successful combination. The show, which was held this past weekend at the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, was a helpful venue for travelers to begin their cruise vacation planning. Consumers that visited the booth were able to inquire about Royal Caribbean ships and itineraries with the help of the experienced cruise consultants of Direct Line Cruises.
“We were pleased not only by the continuous stream of visitors to our booth, but by the amount of serious inquiries and actual bookings made over the two day period”, said Greg Coiro, CEO of Direct Line Cruises. “The Travel Show gives us an eminent platform in which to engage potential clients.”
The over 500 exhibitors this year included a strong showing of those representing the cruising sector. In addition, insight from cruise industry experts was shared at various travel seminars. A team of cruise line executives exchanged thoughts on a panel entitled “Discover Cruising: What Will Cruise Ships Have to Offer in 2011 and Beyond.” In a more humorous, yet still informative presentation given by Royal Caribbean and Direct Line Cruises, t-shirts were thrown into the audience depicting various European cruise ports-of-call.
Many industry insiders consider the New York Times Travel Show to be the most important trade and consumer show of the year.

I want to go to the Caribbean as soon as my baby is a little older and I have a bunch of cash (let me dream). I do not drink alcohol and would not take my son. I’m not into shows or loud music. I just envision me in the sun on the ocean reading, napping, getting massages and generally just relaxing and eating healthy, but good, food.
In other words, I want a quiet, beautiful cruise – not a party cruise.
