Attorney Michael Ehline Voted Cruise Ship Attorney of the Year by Hollywood Weekly Magazine Protects Passengers

    Cruise Ship Attorney

Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) August 31, 2011

Attorney Michael Ehline has been voted Cruise Ship Attorney of the Year, by Hollywood Weekly Magazine, for his ability to protect injured cruise ship passengers rights, and to hold the cruise line accountable without going to the extremes of others in his field. Attorney Ehline is committed to holding the cruise lines accountable for the negligence and willful neglect that causes many slip and fall injuries, accidents and rapes aboard cruise ships, where the unsuspecting passengers leaving the ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach, and San Diego, California, believe they are completely safe.

Slip and fall injuries can happen in areas where the passenger does not expect that this could be a danger, such as trails of water leading to recreational ping pong tables and elevators, from passengers getting in and out of the cruise ship pool. The water trails are often blocked by tables and chairs, or are not readily observable to the naked eye with no warnings posted.

Passengers often assume that all the areas aboard ship are safe, but not all of the surfaces near these areas are even non-slip. His commitment to protecting the rights of the cruise ship passenger and holding the cruise line accountable after an accident or cruise ship rape, which are incidences they would otherwise push under the rug, is why attorney Ehline has earned the title of “Cruise Ship Attorney of the Year.”

Cruise ship rapes are another problem on cruise ships and Michael Ehline is not just a car accident attorney. He recommends never trusting other passengers or crew members completely because of his experience, knowledge and skill with cruise ship tort claims. Trusting anyone outside U.S. waters can lead to a dangerous situation. Other advice is to never go alone into lonely areas of the ship with a crew member or a passenger. Avoid steam rooms and gyms. Not just because of sexual assaults, but because of Norovirus, bacteria and even the potential of ship swaying, that can cause weights and equipment to slip, break, or malfunction and injure you.

Moving along, Ehline claims that some employees on cruise ships have not had background checks done in a meaningful fashion, and that it is completely possible a crew member – from a country like Somalia, Libya or Nigeria, with no national criminal or disease identification systems – who is serving meals, or leading one of the popular activities on board the ship – has a criminal past, or health issues, that would less than desirable for a U.S. based business, according to attorney Ehline.

Ehline says this is not the only problem. You also need to look at the cultural differences in many of the people from these third world countries. “Some of these people could potentially come from countries where their own local law/custom, requires women to be covered from head to toe, and that also outlaw drinking alcohol.” Not everyone shares our core American values” Ehline says.

For this reason, Ehline says: “Women must be especially vigilant on cruises. Alcohol, a party atmosphere, and scantily clad western women, pose a special interest to sexual predators and those who would exploit them, or who simply assume these women are ‘easy’, based upon my observations.” Ehline also says: “This does not rule out the highly educated U.S. based sexual predator, who knows or thinks that U.S./state rape laws may not apply, or have a long arm to reach that rapist or predator. An educated criminal may also think that holes in ship security will allow a clean get away.”

FBI statistics also prove there is a danger on cruise ships to women and children. Between the years of 2002 and 2007 there were 180 cases opened for cruise ship related assaults incidents that have been reported over the years, and national statistics buttress the fact that many women who have been assaulted and/or raped, never even report the attack(s). Ehline cautions that even if you think you have a civil lawsuit, you typically only have six (6) months to file a claim, or you could easily waive your rights to sue for serious injuries, rape or death.

This is true whether it is a slip and fall, or a sexual assault. “The cruise lines hold all the cards in my opinion, by the issuance, and your implied acceptance of the passage contract. Look at it – passage contract – online on the world wide web, if it is posted. Get a copy of it. Read the fine print. Learn how little rights you really have as a cruise passenger.”

So bravo to this brave attorney, shining the light, fighting for client rights statewide in California cities like 6700 East Pacific Coast Highway #275 Long Beach, CA 90803 USA Phone: +1.562.342.9092. Ehline prides himself as a statewide personal injury attorney, who can also be reached at 4445 Eastgate Mall, #200 San Diego, CA 92121 USA Phone: +619.312.6050 and 1999 S. Bascom Ave. #700 Campbell, CA 95008 USA Phone: +408.940.3996. Knowing your legal rights is very important and now that Attorney Michael Ehline was Voted Cruise Ship Attorney of the Year By Hollywood Weekly Magazine, you know who to contact when you need someone who Protects Passengers while aboard ship.

Princess Passengers Vote Port of Los Angeles “2008 Port of the Year”

Santa Clarita, Calif. (Vocus) April 10, 2009

Princess Cruises passengers have voted, and the winner is the World Cruise Center at the Port of Los Angeles as the line’s highest rated turnaround port in 2008.

The annual distinction is awarded to one of Princess’ 33 worldwide turnaround ports that receives the highest passenger satisfaction scores for an entire year, as indicated by passengers on each cruise. A turnaround port is where a cruise ends and the next one begins.

The honor recognizes that a port has provided the service, facilities and personnel that have enhanced the passenger experience boarding or disembarking the ship. In total, the voting measured passenger satisfaction scores from 61 calls in Los Angeles from December 2007 to December 2008.

“The experience our passengers have in a turnaround port is part of their Princess vacation – it’s either the first or last impression of their cruise with us – so we want to acknowledge those ports that deliver our high service standards,” said Dean Brown, Princess executive vice president of corporate services. “Our service scores at the Port of Los Angeles have always been high, but we saw them increase last year and we offer them our congratulations and thanks for having such a positive impact on our passengers.”

This is the fourth year for the award, and previous port of the year designations have gone to Whittier, Vancouver and Brooklyn.

Currently Los Angeles serves as home port to two Princess ships, Sapphire Princess sailing the Mexican Riviera, and Golden Princess, offering Hawaiian Islands sailings. Coral Princess also turns in Los Angeles for Panama Canal cruises.

Forget the cruise. Most cruises are full of retirees. Anyway, if you go you will not remember much of it. Instead book a trip to an all inclusive resort in Cancun.

This is the gathering place upon arrival where you will find bicycle rental services, seafood restaurants, Tourists adventure information (close by). The main mode of transport here is by bicycle. Although some elderlys would prefer to rent a vehicle with driver to cruise them around. There is a chalet on this island but not popular due to inadequate facilities to move around at night. Surprisingly there is an interesting Thai temple which is quite popular for worshippers.
